Residential real estate in Seattle, WA is on the move. If the home is priced right, sellers are receiving multiple offers for their homes. Look at the Trend Graphics Chart on the Resource page of this website. You will notice that Pending sales for the month of January of this year were at 48 homes, plus completed sales of 58 homes. Looking over to the right of the chart, notice that the number of Pending homes for the month of May has increased to 96 homes, which is a 100% increase over January. Sold homes for May increased to 108, which is an 86.2% increase in the number of sold homes over January.
Interest rates are still at a 40-year low. A 30-year-fixed loan for a home under $417,000 is 3.0%. There is also a decrease in the number of homes for sale, which is driving the multiple offer scenario currently in play in the real estate market in Seattle and surrounding areas.
