Mortgage Monday: Assistance for First Time Home Buyers

Assistance for first time home buyers

Washington State Housing Finance Commission has programs that are geared for the first time home buyer. You need to take a class sponsored by WSHFC and then find a home you want to buy. The class will teach you about different programs that are financed by WSHFC and how to get the home you want. You will learn how to improve your credit score, how to qualify for a loan from WSHFC, and how to find the home that is just right for you.

The various loan programs offered by WSHFC are funded by bonds that are sold by WSHFC. The interest rate is locked in for 30 years and at this time it is currently 4%. Go to their web site, www.wshfc.org, and sign up for a class. There is no charge for these classes.

If you live in the Federal Way, WA area and wish to attend a class, click on the WSHFC Classes link on the navigation bar and reserve your space in a class that I will be hosting along with Tom Caston of Eagle Home Mortgage.
